3 Ways To Propel Your Productivity To New Heights
Trying to find and establish a great foundation of motivation under regular circumstances is hard enough. Add to the pressure of deadlines and a heavy workload, finding inspiration to carry on can be seen as daunting. Increasing your productive outlook in the morning may be the last thing on your mind, but believe it or not, there are various strategies that can be used to boost productivity from the moment you wake up. Take a look for yourself.
1) Change Your Diet
Perhaps this isn’t the first thing that spring to mind, but it’s probably one of the most effective strategies to use when attempting to boost productivity. We’ve all heard the common saying ”you are what you eat”, and this is especially true in the mornings.
In the western world breakfast usually, encompasses saturated fat and high sugar content, which results in depleted levels of energy – not something you need first thing in the morning! Instead of reaching for that sugar-filled cereal bowl or tucking into that buttery bagel, opt for a healthy smoothie or high energy foods that scientifically boost levels of productivity. Besides your actual diet, try changing the quantity of the food you are eating. For example, opt for a light chicken salad at lunch. It will not make you feel tired or lethargic in the afternoon and it’s full of protein and healthy carbs. Everyone is different, so try and find a balance.
2) Exercise Every Morning
Working out every morning before work will increase your energy levels and get that serotonin pumping around your body, and should be extremely cost-effective. Exercising every morning before work can help promote your physical and mental health, and more importantly equip you for the day ahead. Besides increasing your metabolism and oxygen levels, exercising will prompt you to wake up earlier. Again, these efforts compounded will allow you to settle into a routine that you will reap the benefits of.
3) Don’t forget that H2O
Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but water is unequivocally the most important factor when it comes to promoting productivity and brain functionality. Start hydrating yourself as soon as you wake up in the morning and maintain a steady pace throughout the day. Aim to drink a minimum of 2 litres every day. Staying hydrated will increase productivity because it will decrease stress levels and keep you energised – allowing you to think with more clarity. Additionally drinking water will help combat headaches, stop your body from overheating and reinforce your immune system.
